We have set up a donation box for the antifascists in Graz affected by the state repression. While all of the accused have been released from pre-trial detention, this story is not over yet, it is just the beginning. Solidarity across the left scene is now more needed than ever. That’s why we have set up a new donation box at Steinfeldgasse 2, where you can donate in cash. All the raised funds will go directly to #antifagraz25. You can also donate via bank transfer to the account listed at the end of this post.
We hope other autonomous spaces in Graz join us in this endeavour and we will be able to publish a nice map of all the places in Graz where you can donate in cash soon. Siamo tutti antifascisti!

Finally some good news! All seven accused are free! The last person in pre-trial detention, who was held in custody for six weeks without any comprehensible reason, was finally released last week. We suspect that the long pre-trial detention was an attempt to further intimidate and break the person and thus also the person’s environment. The public prosecutor’s office also demanded the detention of another accused person again, despite the decision to the contrary by the pre-trial detention judge. This plan was also rejected by the Higher Regional Court of Graz
This decision in particular shows how disproportionately the public prosecutor’s office in Graz is proceeding in this case: while six of the accused were released a good four weeks ago due to a lack of grounds for pre-trial detention, the public prosecutor’s office lodged an appeal with the Higher Regional Court (OLG), which means that sending people to pre-trial detention for knocking down someone’s hatSome of the accused were banned from owning weapons last week. Such a ban is only imposed without a criminal conviction in particularly serious cases and is completely disproportionate in this case, showing that the Austrian authorities are still trying to criminalize anti-fascism by all means. and lodging an appeal against judicial decisions to release them can only be explained by political interests. The same applies to the further harassment carried out by the authorities in the past week.

We are happy to have all of the accused back with us now. Nevertheless, we still have many challenging weeks and months ahead of us, as the trial is still to come. It is foreseeable that this will also be politically motivated and that the court will try to take tough action against the accused anti-fascists
It is therefore important to continue to exert public pressure and to scandalize this excessive persecution of anti-fascists!
